The game combines innovative gameplay mechanics, inspired by everyday objects, with a nostalgic pixelated RPG aesthetic, creating a distinctive and engaging experience that appeals to both teens and nostalgic adults.
GAME PRODUCER
As the game producer for "A Chipped Purpose," I played a pivotal role in orchestrating the development process and ensuring the project stayed on track. My responsibilities included organizing regular team meetings using Doodle to coordinate times that suited everyone, and submitting game progress updates at various project milestones to maintain transparency. I developed comprehensive game design documents in Google Docs that outlined gameplay mechanics, story elements, and the overall vision. Task delegation was a key part of my role, as I assigned responsibilities to our 9-member team based on their strengths. I utilized Jira for project management, documenting minutes, and tracking progress to keep the team organized and accountable. Effective communication was facilitated through Discord, allowing for seamless collaboration and prompt resolution of issues. Additionally, I helped the programming department keep our code organized on GitHub and Unity, and assisted our art department in organizing game assets on Google Drive to ensure consistency and efficiency. I also leveraged Canva and Photoshop to create engaging game branding materials, including logos and promotional images. By integrating these tools and strategies, I ensured the smooth progression of the project and contributed to the creation of a unique and engaging game.
